Keynote Speaker in Riyadh

Over the past few years, multinational after multinational has opened or moved its regional headquarters to Riyadh. The move is the easy part. The harder part comes next: turning a newly assembled group of Saudi professionals and relocated international hires into one leadership culture, while the market around them changes at speed. Erik Kruger is an international keynote speaker who helps leaders shape the way their teams think, work and respond to change, so the people building your Riyadh operation pull in the same direction.

Vision 2030
The national transformation agenda behind Riyadh’s growth

Riyadh is in the middle of a transformation you can see from the road. Saudi Vision 2030, the national plan to diversify the economy beyond oil, has put the capital at the centre of an enormous building programme. The King Abdullah Financial District is filling with banks, consultancies and technology firms, giga-projects such as Diriyah and Qiddiya are taking shape on the edge of the city, and Riyadh has been chosen to host World Expo 2030.

The Regional Headquarters Programme has added another layer. Since January 2024, Saudi government agencies have generally only contracted with foreign companies that run their regional headquarters from inside the Kingdom, and many multinationals have responded by building senior teams in Riyadh. Those teams are often brand new. Experienced leaders relocate from other regional hubs, join ambitious Saudi colleagues who are building their careers at home, and are expected to deliver for the whole region from the first quarter.

At the same time, the Saudi workforce is growing quickly. More Saudis, and many more Saudi women, are working in the private sector than ever before, and Saudisation targets mean organisations are hiring and developing national talent at pace. For leaders, that adds up to an unusual mix: a young, driven workforce, a market that rewards speed, and teams that have not yet had time to become teams. That is the space Erik’s keynotes speak to.

The move is the easy part. Building one leadership culture is the real work.

The challenge

What makes leading in Riyadh different

Leaders in Riyadh are being asked to build and grow at the same time. These are the pressures Erik’s keynotes are designed to meet.

A new headquarters, a new team

A regional headquarters can be licensed in months, but a leadership culture takes longer. Erik helps leaders agree how decisions get made, how feedback flows and what good looks like, before habits carried over from a dozen previous employers fill the gap.

Saudi and international talent, side by side

Teams often combine Saudi professionals in fast-rising careers with experienced international hires on fixed-term contracts. Erik shows leaders how to build trust across that mix, share knowledge deliberately and develop the national talent the organisation will rely on for years.

A pace that tests every habit

Vision 2030 has compressed timelines across the economy. When targets move this fast, leaders fall back on whatever worked before. Erik helps them notice when yesterday’s map no longer fits the road, and adjust before their teams pay the price.

Growth that outpaces management depth

Rapid hiring means many people step into leadership roles sooner than they expected. Erik gives new and established managers practical ways to lead through change, hold people accountable and keep energy high while the workload keeps growing.

Keynotes

Keynotes for Riyadh leadership teams

Each keynote is shaped after a consultation call about your audience and objectives. These three themes are where most Riyadh briefs start.

How Leaders Evolve

Erik calls it death by GPS: leading with yesterday’s maps in a market that redraws itself every year. This keynote helps Riyadh leaders update how they think, decide and lead as AI, new competitors and national transformation reshape their industries, and how to take their people with them.

Power Moves

Transformation agendas can drown in initiatives. Erik makes the case for a few bold, well-chosen actions that create a clear before and after for a team or a business. It works well as the opening keynote for a strategy launch, a leadership summit or an annual kick-off.

Building one culture from many

Designed for new and fast-growing regional headquarters, this session covers how leaders turn capable individuals from very different backgrounds into one team: shared expectations, honest conversations, clear decisions and a culture that local and international hires both recognise as their own.

Events

Built for Riyadh’s event calendar

Riyadh’s event calendar has expanded quickly. Large international gatherings such as the Future Investment Initiative, LEAP and Biban draw global audiences to the city, and World Expo 2030 is on its way. Alongside those headline events sit government forums, industry conferences, sales kick-offs and a growing number of in-house leadership programmes run by organisations that now base their regional teams in the capital.

Erik adapts the format to the occasion: an opening keynote that sets the tone for a leadership summit, a closing session that turns a two-day agenda into commitments, or a keynote followed by a half-day working session for your top team.

Speaking across Saudi Arabia and the region

Leadership teams based in Riyadh often look after Jeddah, the Eastern Province and the wider GCC as well. Erik is available for events across the Kingdom and the region, with the same consultation and tailoring process. For more on events beyond the capital, see his page on keynote speaking in Saudi Arabia. If your organisation also runs a team in the UAE, see his page on keynote speaking in Dubai.

Common event venues in Riyadh include:
  • King Abdulaziz International Conference Center
  • Riyadh Front Exhibition & Conference Center
  • Riyadh International Convention & Exhibition Center
  • The Ritz-Carlton, Riyadh
  • Hotels and conference spaces in the King Abdullah Financial District (KAFD) for executive sessions
  • Diriyah and desert venues outside the city for leadership retreats

Erik’s team coordinates directly with your venue, event agency and production crew on timings, AV and staging.

Why Erik

Why Riyadh organisers book Erik

Proof from global boardrooms

Organisations rarely book Erik only once. After his keynote, PepsiCo asked him to create and lead a tailored leadership programme, then invited him back the next year. Toyota’s leadership conference asked him to return, and the Entrepreneurs’ Organization keeps booking him across its chapters around the world. His keynote clients also include Emirates NBD, Microsoft, LinkedIn and the Young Presidents Organization.

Made for ambitious audiences

Riyadh audiences are young, driven and impatient with theory. Erik’s style is direct and practical, built on eight years of working with leaders and teams, and every keynote ends with tools people can put to work on Sunday morning.

From one keynote to lasting change

For organisations investing in their leaders, a keynote can be the start rather than the whole story. Erik’s half-day Leadership Lab covers mastering personal change and then leading change for others, and his Transformational Leadership Journeys extend the work over several months.
