Yesterday I fetched my girlfriend from the airport.
I loaded her heavy bags into the car and in the process caught a glimpse of a designated space for the trolleys. After I shut the car boot I started pushing the trolley into the parking bay next to the car because, well, it’s closer.
But I stopped and remembered that this year I want to do things right.
Even the small things. Especially the small things.
So, I took the measly 20 steps to park the trolley in it’s rightful place and left it behind with a smile.
It’s so easy to neglect doing the right thing (too busy, no-one is watching, etc). But every time we think about doing the right thing and instead choose to do the easy thing we betray ourselves.
Let’s make this a year of doing the right thing in everything.
